Position: Counsellor for Child and Youth Support
Join the Upper Grand District School Board as a Child and Youth Counsellor at Willow Road Public School. Provide critical support for students' emotional and social needs.

The Child and Youth Counsellor role at UGDSB focuses on aiding students through various emotional challenges. By developing targeted programs and offering direct services, you will help students navigate issues such as peer interactions and anger management. This position also involves collaborating with parents and community agencies to create effective solutions that promote mental health awareness and educational success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students facing emotional and social barriers

• Design and implement behavioral programs

• Engage in direct counseling for student concerns

• Liaise with parents and local agencies

• Contribute to action plans and individualized education programs

Requirements:

• Diploma or degree in Child and Youth Work or related areas

• Demonstrated experience in behavioral and mental health support

• Knowledge of school systems and proactive strategies

• Membership in Ontario Association of Child and Youth Care

• Skills in group and individual counseling
