This position is a contract role until March 31, 2027. Working closely with Guelph Police Services, you will conduct crisis assessments and interventions for individuals in acute mental health crises. The role emphasizes collaboration with police staff and education on mental health resources while actively mitigating community challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide crisis assessment and stabilization interventions
• Educate police on mental health and addictions
• Offer support to police and volunteers experiencing compassion fatigue
• Collaborate with integrated police and crisis teams
• Link individuals to ongoing mental health services
Requirements:
• Degree/diploma in social work or related field
• Three years of relevant experience
• Strong crisis assessment and intervention skills
• Excellent clinical documentation abilities
• Valid driver’s license and insurance for travel
Leverage your skills to improve mental health crisis responses in partnership with CMHA Waterloo Wellington and local police.
