Audit & Accounts Manager

Location: Guildford, Surrey

TPF Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well‑established and growing accountancy practice in Guildford that is looking to recruit an Audit & Accounts Manager to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practice professional to take on a varied and senior role, managing a portfolio of clients across audit and accounts while supporting the development of junior staff and working closely with Partners. The firm offers a collaborative and professional environment, with strong client relationships and a diverse portfolio.

The Role

As an Audit & Accounts Manager, you will take responsibility for managing client engagements, ensuring high‑quality delivery across both audit and accounts assignments.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a portfolio of clients across audit and accounts
  • Leading statutory audits from planning through to completion
  • Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for a range of clients
  • Conducting risk assessments and overseeing audit testing
  • Reviewing work prepared by junior team members
    , ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Preparing and presenting management letters and audit findings to clients
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor
  • Supporting and mentoring junior staff, providing guidance and technical support
  • Managing workflow, deadlines and ensuring work is delivered efficiently
  • Assisting Partners with client development and advisory projects
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and auditing standards
Requirements

The Ideal Candidate

  • ACA or ACCA qualified
  • Strong experience within audit and accounts in a UK accountancy practice
  • Proven experience managing client portfolios and leading audit assignments
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and auditing standards
  • Experience reviewing and supervising junior staff
  • Excellent communication and client‑facing skills
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • A proactive and commercially aware approach
