TPF Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well‑established and growing accountancy practice in Guildford that is looking to recruit an Audit & Accounts Manager to join their team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practice professional to take on a varied and senior role, managing a portfolio of clients across audit and accounts while supporting the development of junior staff and working closely with Partners. The firm offers a collaborative and professional environment, with strong client relationships and a diverse portfolio.
The RoleAs an Audit & Accounts Manager, you will take responsibility for managing client engagements, ensuring high‑quality delivery across both audit and accounts assignments.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing a portfolio of clients across audit and accounts
- Leading statutory audits from planning through to completion
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for a range of clients
- Conducting risk assessments and overseeing audit testing
- Reviewing work prepared by junior team members
, ensuring accuracy and compliance - Preparing and presenting management letters and audit findings to clients
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor
- Supporting and mentoring junior staff, providing guidance and technical support
- Managing workflow, deadlines and ensuring work is delivered efficiently
- Assisting Partners with client development and advisory projects
- Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and auditing standards
The Ideal Candidate
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- Strong experience within audit and accounts in a UK accountancy practice
- Proven experience managing client portfolios and leading audit assignments
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and auditing standards
- Experience reviewing and supervising junior staff
- Excellent communication and client‑facing skills
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- A proactive and commercially aware approach
