What it’s like to work here

Reporting to our Facilities & Support Services Manager, you’ll be at the heart of the property working alongside all our property teams by delivering efficient business services. You’ll be responsible for providing great customer service across the portfolio, to visitors, contractors and colleagues.

Hatch lands Park was built in the 1750s for naval hero Admiral Edward Boscawen and his wife Fanny. Since then, it has housed wealthy families, a finishing school for girls and even a printing press. Today, visitors can wander through 400 acres of rolling parkland and woodland, stop for coffee in the Kitchen Café all year round or see inside the house on six afternoons a week, between March and October.

Hatch lands Park is part of a property group with Clandon Park and Polesden Lacey. The Facilities and Support Services team functions across both Hatch lands and Clandon, working to keep our buildings and facilities safe and compliant and our business operations running efficiently.

What you’ll be doing

As the property’s only dedicated Business Services team member, you’ll be responsible for the delivery of efficient, proactive and flexible business services at Hatch lands Park and Clandon Park. Working within a team, you’ll help enable your colleagues to deliver the organisational strategy and meet their objectives. Your responsibilities will include general business services, records management, system/process management, soft facilities management and financial management.

You’ll role model great customer service, providing a consistent point of contact for your team, visitors and external stakeholders. You'll co‑coordinate the efficient and discreet handling of data using a number of business systems. Part of a small, flexible team, you’ll work alongside colleagues and volunteers creating a great place to work. You’ll work in an environmentally conscious manner, monitoring the resources that are delegated to you.

You’ll be part of the duty management rota. You’ll be responsible on the day for the smooth running of the property during opening hours, acting as the main contact point for staff, volunteers, and customers in case of emergency, enquiry or complaint.
