Job overview
The RSFT safeguarding teams are instrumental in supporting families to keep them safe. The team are looking for administrative support to help them be as efficient as possible in their role and ensure they meet all of the necessary regulatory requirements.

Main duties of the jobTo provide a comprehensive, effective and confidential administrative support to Safeguarding nurses/midwives, using a self-motivated and pro‑active approach.
To provide a considerate, patient focused service in all dealings with patients and with staff around the hospital and through‑out the whole system.
To provide administrative support to the Safeguarding teams as required, e.g. filing, photocopying, arranging meetings and training sessions, producing training materials and packs, collating and inputting audit data and providing reports as necessary.
Arrange meetings as requested sourcing a venue, circulating minutes and agendas for the safeguarding teams.
To be aware of the complaints procedure and use initiative to resolve complaints from patients and any other individuals as far as possible. Escalate outstanding concerns as required.
To support the named nurse/midwife in collecting information sharing forms around the trust and/or Emergency Department cards and as per direction from named nurse/midwife liaise with community staff as required.
To receive and process national ‘safeguarding alerts’ notifications and follow the procedure for the trust.

Detailed job description and main responsibilitiesThis post involves performing general administrative duties for the safeguarding team as required. It includes, but is not exhaustive to , taking and distributing minutes of meetings, typing and sending of child protection medical reports, data entry and general upkeep of databases, telephone duties, management of medical notes/records and administration and booking for safeguarding training. The main areas of responsibility are outlined as below.
Personspecification Qualifications
- RSA Stage 2 Word Processing or equivalent experience
- GCSE Minimum of English and Maths Grade C or equivalent
- Experience of Microsoft Word/Office
- Experience of Microsoft Excel
- Experience of Microsoft Power Point
- 3 years administration experience or equivalent experience
- Experience in the NHS or other health‑related work
- Experience with RSCH in‑house IT systems e.g. SBS, My Learning, Cerner and Badgernet
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
