Job Description & How to Apply Below

We’re hiring:
Tender Manager or Buyer with Tender Experience

Guildford, Surrey (hybrid working)

In Avendra International we support organisations by running robust, fair and transparent supplier tender processes across complex categories and markets.

This role owns the end‑to‑end delivery of competitive tenders — from early requirement shaping and supplier engagement through to evaluation, award and mobilisation. It’s a hands‑on role for someone who genuinely understands how tenders work in practice, not just in theory.

You’ll suit this role if you enjoy structure, governance and detail, but also know how to work commercially with stakeholders and suppliers to achieve strong, defensible outcomes.

What you’ll be doing
  • Owning and delivering multiple supplier tenders and RFPs from start to finish
  • Working with clients and internal stakeholders to define scope, evaluation models and award criteria
  • Managing supplier engagement, including pre‑tender briefings and clarifications
  • Coordinating tender activity through Avendra International’s online tendering platform
  • Leading bid evaluation, moderation and scoring to ensure fairness, value and risk control
  • Producing clear, well‑structured evaluation and award reports for decision‑makers
  • Ensuring compliance with UK procurement regulations and internal governance frameworks
  • Supporting supplier mobilisation, feedback and post‑award activity
  • Continuously improving tender processes, templates and reporting quality
What we’re looking for (Essential)
  • 2–5 years’ experience running public and/or private sector tenders end‑to‑end
  • Proven experience in structured tender evaluation, governance and reporting
  • Strong commercial judgement with the ability to assess value, risk and competitiveness
  • Confident stakeholder management and clear written communication
  • Advanced Excel skills and high attention to detail
Nice to have
  • CIPS or MCIPS qualification
  • Food sector experience or exposure to complex, regulated categories
  • Experience working across both public and private sector tendering environments
What we offer
  • A role with genuine ownership and visibility across high‑value tenders
  • Supportive, knowledgeable procurement professionals who value quality and integrity
  • A values‑led culture focused on professionalism, transparency and impartiality
  • Hybrid working and a sustainable workload
Our commitment to inclusion

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all backgrounds. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.

Ready to apply?

If you’re a tender professional who wants to make a real commercial impact, we’d love to hear from you.
