Senior Business Analyst - Housing Improvement Programme (Interim)

Location
Millmead House, Guildford, Surrey, GU2 4BB

Start Date
ASAP (contract commencement from 7 September 2026)

Contract Duration
Until 31 March 2027

Working Hours
37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide expert business analysis and process improvement support across Housing Improvement Programme (HIP) work streams.
  • Analyse and improve processes relating to housing safety, quality and compliance, repairs, voids and lettings, leasehold and tenancy management.
  • Use data analysis to identify trends, root causes, risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain advanced Power BI reports and dashboards to support decision-making.
  • Use advanced Microsoft Excel skills to analyse and interpret complex datasets.
  • Cleanse, validate and reconcile data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Translate complex analysis into clear, practical recommendations and improvement actions.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand business needs and support the delivery of process improvements.
  • Communicate analytical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Person Specification Must-Have Requirements
  • Strong experience in business analysis and process improvement.
  • Experience working with complex business processes, preferably within housing or a related public sector environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and trend identification.
  • Advanced Power BI development skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in data cleansing, validation and reconciliation.
  • Strong numerical and statistical skills.
  • Ability to identify root causes and turn data into practical improvement insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
  • Demonstrable ability to work effectively with stakeholders across multiple work streams.
Nice-to-Have Requirements
  • Experience working within a local authority or social housing environment.
  • Knowledge of housing safety, repairs, voids and lettings, leasehold or tenancy management.
  • Experience supporting large-scale housing improvement or transformation programmes.
  • Experience of using data and business intelligence to drive service improvement.
