The Opportunity

We are partnering with a leading UK main contractor, renowned for delivering high-profile, complex projects across sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, and infrastructure. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming work, they are seeking an experienced Senior Pre-Construction Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping and securing future projects.

The Role

As a Senior Pre-Construction Manager, you will:

  • Lead and manage the full pre-construction lifecycle from initial enquiry through to contract award
  • Oversee bid strategy, programme development, and cost planning in collaboration with estimating teams
  • Engage with clients to understand key drivers, ensuring tailored and competitive submissions
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including design, commercial, and operational stakeholders
  • Drive innovation, value engineering, and risk management throughout the bid process
  • Mentor and develop junior members of the pre-construction team
  • Ensure governance, compliance, and quality standards are consistently met
About You
  • Proven experience in a senior pre‑construction or bid leadership role within a main contractor
  • Strong track record of winning and delivering large-scale projects (£50m - £100m+)
  • Excellent commercial awareness and technical understanding of construction methodologies
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to lead, influence, and inspire teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
