- Manage QA documentation, inspections, testing and snagging
- Monitor subcontractor performance and challenge delays or poor workmanship
- Attend M&E coordination, progress and subcontractor meetings
- Work closely with the design team and consultants throughout the construction process
- Coordinate testing and commissioning activities
- Manage completion of snagging and outstanding works
- Ensure O&M information and handover documentation is completed correctly
- Maintain high standards of health and safety across all M&E activities
- Support the project team through practical completion and final handover
The Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience as an M&E Manager, Building Services Manager or Senior M&E Project Manager
- Strong experience delivering M&E packages for a main contractor
- Good mechanical and electrical technical knowledge
- Experience managing specialist M&E subcontractors
- Strong understanding of QA, commissioning and handover
- Experience working on sizeable construction projects
- Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications and technical information
- Strong programme awareness and the ability to drive subcontractors
- A practical, delivery focused approach
- Confidence dealing with subcontractors, consultants and internal project teams
Experience with in large scale residential developments would be particularly beneficial.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to join an established main contractor with a strong pipeline of work and take genuine ownership of the building services package.
They are looking for somebody who wants to be involved in the detail, drive the job forward and become an integral part of the wider project team rather than simply managing the M&E package from behind a desk.
