Setting Out Engineer

Red Sky Personnel is currently recruiting an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join a live infrastructure project in Guildford.

This role requires someone with a strong groundworks background who is confident setting out works, managing site activities and providing clear direction to trades and operatives.

Alongside the engineering responsibilities, you will support the Project Manager with quality, site coordination and operational requirements. This could be a great opportunity for an experienced Setting Out Engineer looking to take the next step towards a Project Engineer position.

The Role

Setting out groundworks and civil engineering works on site

Ensuring works are completed accurately in accordance with drawings and specifications

Working closely with the Project Manager and site teams

Managing and coordinating trades and operatives on site

Providing clear instructions and direction to site personnel

Supporting the quality assurance and quality control of works

Carrying out site checks and ensuring works meet required standards

Assisting the Project Manager with day-to-day operational requirements

Identifying and resolving engineering/site issues

Ensuring works are delivered safely and in line with programme requirements

Requirements

Previous experience as a Setting Out Engineer / Site Engineer

Strong groundworks experience is essential

Previous civils/infrastructure experience

Confident setting out and interpreting engineering drawings

Experience managing and directing trades and site operatives

Good understanding of site quality requirements

Able to work independently and take responsibility for site activities

Strong communication and organisational skills

Available for an immediate start

Previous water / utilities experience would be advantageous

Thames Water requirements can be arranged, so candidates do not need to already hold a Thames Water Passport
