About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-focused Estimator to join an established construction and property business specialising in high-end residential projects across the countryside and Home Counties.

The business delivers a diverse portfolio of bespoke country homes, rural estates, historic properties, new-builds and high-quality refurbishments, with a strong focus on craftsmanship, quality and attention to detail.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator who enjoys working on distinctive projects and has a strong understanding of construction costs, materials and specialist trades.

Key Responsibilities  
Prepare accurate estimates and cost plans for high-end residential projects.
Review drawings, specifications, schedules and other tender information.
Develop detailed construction estimates from initial enquiry through to tender submission.
Obtain and analyse quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and specialist trades.
Identify potential cost savings, risks and opportunities within tenders.
Ensure estimates are accurate, competitive and commercially viable.
Assist with the preparation of tender submissions and supporting documentation.
Liaise with clients, architects, consultants and project teams to clarify scope and specifications.
Undertake take-offs and detailed measurement of materials and works.
Maintain accurate estimating records and cost databases.
Support the commercial team with pre-construction and procurement activities.  About You

The ideal candidate will have:
 
Proven experience as an Estimator within construction.
Experience estimating high-end residential, luxury residential, refurbishment, heritage or bespoke construction projects.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and specialist trades.
Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
The ability to interpret architectural drawings, specifications and schedules.
Experience obtaining and assessing subcontractor and supplier quotations.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
A methodical, organised and commercially minded approach.
Good IT skills, particularly Excel and relevant estimating software.  Experience

working on complex or high-value residential projects would be highly advantageous.
