The role

We are currently seeking a proactive and highly organised Events Coordinator to join our friendly and vibrant Events Team at the University of Surrey on a one‑year fixed term contract to cover a secondment. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to play a key role in the planning and delivery of a range of events in support of student recruitment activities including University Open Days.

  • Provide excellent customer service and guest experience throughout each event
  • Contribute to post‑event evaluation and reporting
About You
  • Proven experience of running events from concept to evaluation with good knowledge of the operational requirements which are central to their successful delivery, such as catering, AV and risk assessments.

  • Confident communication skills, a collaborative mindset and the ability to work confidently with a wide range of people
  • You will understand the need to be flexible, with extensive weekend/evening work required and have a solution‑focused approach.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional experiences.
Why Join Us
  • Be part of a vibrant, diverse university community working with a supportive team that thrives on partnership and shared purpose, and values creativity and professionalism
  • Manage events that make a real impact to the student experience, academic excellence, and global reputation
  • Access to a wide range of staff benefits including flexible working, generous leave, and staff wellbeing and development opportunities
