Overview

St Peter’s Catholic School, part of the Xavier Catholic Education Trust, is an successful school and Sixth Form located on the outskirts of Guildford with onsite parking. We demand high academic standards and excellent facilities. We have a partnership with Teach Southeast, an initial teacher training provider. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Design & Technology Technician to join our department.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain our workshops and equipment.
  • Handle orders and prepare materials.
  • Support lessons to assist students with practical work when requested by staff.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of wood and metalworking machinery and techniques.
  • Experience with budgeting and basic IT skills.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies such as CNC equipment.
  • Strong ability to work with young people, putting them at the heart of everything.
About the Design Technology Department

We currently teach Textiles, Product Design, Food & Nutrition (with a dedicated technician) and Architecture. We have a wide range of up‑to‑date, well‑maintained equipment in six subject‑specific teaching rooms. The team is friendly, hardworking, positive and passionate about the subject. We develop exciting projects to capture imaginations and make learning fun, sharing ideas and resources in a highly collaborative way.
