An academically ambitious and values-led secondary school in Guildford is seeking to appoint an excellent Teacher of English from September 2026. The Role
The successful candidate will teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach at Key Stage 5. A Level teaching experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
The school is seeking a teacher who will:
Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons
Foster a love of reading, writing and critical thinking
Develop students' analytical and communication skills
Use assessment effectively to secure strong progress
Contribute positively to a collaborative department
This role would suit experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers alike. Support is tailored according to experience, with a structured induction and mentoring programme for ECTs and personalised professional development pathways for more experienced colleagues.

The successful candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Demonstrate strong subject knowledge in English Language and/or Literature
Have high expectations for achievement and behaviour
Build positive and consistent relationships with students
Be reflective and committed to ongoing professional development
Have the right to work in the UK
