SEND Support Worker – School Based (Young People)

Location: Guildford, Surrey

Salary: Day rate – £107.00-£115.00 (dependent on experience)

Contract: Full-time & Part-time Opportunities Available

The Role

As a SEND Support Worker, you’ll work closely with teachers and school staff to provide tailored support for students with a range of additional needs. Your role will be vital in creating a positive, inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Assisting pupils with autism (ASC), ADHD, learning difficulties, SEMH, speech and language needs, and other additional needs.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
  • Supporting students both in the classroom and during wider school activities.
  • Working alongside teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to deliver personalised support.
  • Building positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Promoting safeguarding and the wellbeing of every young person.

  • Youth work.
  • Residential childcare.
  • Care or support work.
  • Mental health support.
  • Sports coaching.
  • Community or voluntary work with young people.

Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people (preferred but not essential).
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
  • Two professional references covering the last two years.
  • The right to work in the UK.
