To be eligible, applicants must:
- Hold an offer to study a full-time undergraduate (first-year entry) or full-time taught Master’s degree at the University of Surrey.
- Be a self-funded international fee-paying student (not sponsored or receiving another scholarship).
- For undergraduate applicants, make the University of Surrey your firm UCAS choice
. - Apply before a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) is issued.
- Be domiciled in one of the eligible countries.
- Meet all admission requirements for the chosen programme.
Applicants must be domiciled in one of the following countries:
- Bulgaria
- Chile
- Colombia
- Egypt
- Italy
- Jordan
- Lebanon
- Mexico
- Morocco
- Nepal
- Oman
- Poland
- Portugal
- South Africa
- Sri Lanka
- Uganda
- Vietnam
Applicants from countries not listed may instead be eligible for the University’s International Excellence Award

- The scholarship is not deferrable
. Students who defer their admission must submit a new scholarship application. - Applications cannot be submitted after a CAS has been issued.
- The scholarship is valid for the first year only
, including two-year Master’s programmes. - Scholarship recipients cannot combine this award with another University of Surrey scholarship, alumni discount, or early payment discount.
- Awards are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis
, so early application is strongly encouraged.
Applications are assessed based on:
- Academic performance.
- Predicted grades (where applicable).
- Personal statement.
- Leadership potential.
- Commitment to social responsibility.
Final decisions are made by the University’s Scholarship Awards Panel.
