You'll be joining welcoming and supportive SEN schools that place inclusion, wellbeing, and personalised learning at the heart of everything they do. These schools are committed to helping every child achieve their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment.
Your main responsibilities will include:- Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, responding to their individual learning and emotional needs.
- Assisting children with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties
. - Building positive, trusting relationships that promote confidence and independence.
- Working alongside teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and other professionals to support pupils throughout the school day.
- Adapting learning activities and resources to help pupils access the curriculum.
- Promoting a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment where every child feels valued.
- Supporting pupils with emotional regulation, communication, and social development.
Skills:
- Experience working with children or young people in schools, care, youth work, sports coaching, nurseries, or similar settings is desirable.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with SEND.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, caring, and proactive approach.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while using your own initiative.
