Electrical Archiect | Space/Satellite | Guildford | Competitive salary + strong package

Are you an Electrical Engineer interested in working for an industry leading Space & Satellite Company? Do you want to work on cutting edge Space and Satellite projects and technologies? Previous Space experience is desirable but not essential. Applications are welcome from Electrical Engineers from other Advanced Engineering sectors such as Aviation, Aerospace and defense.

Our client is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer with high standards to join their existing highly skilled team to support the electrical development of a leading "gold standard" ESA measurement project.

Responsibilities
  • Support and perform electrical architecture activities in conjunction with the current electrical architectural project team.
  • Assist in the review (electrical and data handling) of supplier data packs and participate in supplier engineering meetings.
  • Review and assist updates of the payload specification and lower level electrical equipment and data handling.
  • Create and maintain system block diagrams, electrical interfaces, grounding and isolation, electrical block diagram, switching & TMTC diagrams and modes of operation.
  • Maintain ICDs, harness definitions, power budgets & data rates.
  • Generate applicability matrices and jacket requirement documents for Spacewire and Wizard Link interfaces.
  • SRDB definition and development planning.
  • Support the AIT team in Ground Support Equipment definition.
  • Manage the development of the instrument control unit with subcontractors.
  • Maintaining technical documents throughout the design lifecycle.
  • Contributing to customer design reviews.
Experience, Knowledge & Skills / Qualifications
  • Extensive mixed signal, analogue and digital hardware experience.
  • Strong record with planning and meeting budgets/schedule.
  • Comfortable managing and working with sub-contractors.
  • Space based instrumentation experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in managing complex electronics systems through full life cycle; from requirements to integration.
  • ESA ECSS standards experience is desirable but not essential.
  • A degree or equivalent in Electronics Engineering.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to influence, persuade and negotiate with people at all levels. Ability to work effectively with both customers, sub-contractors and suppliers.
  • Self-motivated, creative, high attention to detail and accountable.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities with creative problem-solving skills.
  • Good MS Office Skills.
