Purpose & Scope of the RoleAs an Apprentice Asbestos Surveyor & Analyst, you will support the delivery of asbestos surveying, air monitoring, sampling and analytical services across a varied portfolio of client sites. Working alongside experienced surveyors, analysts and technical specialists, you will gain practical experience while completing a Level 3 Asbestos Analyst & Surveyor Apprenticeship.
The role offers exposure to a wide range of sectors including commercial, industrial, healthcare, education and public sector environments. You'll contribute to projects ranging from asbestos management surveys in occupied buildings to refurbishment and demolition surveys supporting major construction and redevelopment projects.
As part of your development, you will assist with site inspections, air monitoring activities, sample collection, data management and technical reporting, while developing a strong understanding of industry legislation, accredited quality systems and best practice standards. Regular interaction with clients, contractors, colleagues and building occupiers will form an important part of the role, ensuring projects are delivered safely, professionally and to the highest technical standards.

Through a blend of workplace mentoring, formal training, online learning and practical experience, you will work towards recognised industry qualifications, including the RSPH Level 3 Award in Asbestos Air Monitoring and Clearance Procedures.
From day one, you'll develop a solid understanding of asbestos legislation, health and safety requirements, surveying methodologies, air monitoring techniques and quality assurance processes. As your knowledge and confidence grow, you'll take on increasing responsibility across surveying and analytical activities, supporting the successful delivery of client projects and contributing to the management of asbestos‑related risks.
Successful completion of the programme can lead to a range of qualified career opportunities, including Asbestos Surveyor, Asbestos Analyst, Site Analyst or dual‑trained Surveyor/Analyst roles, providing a strong foundation for long‑term progression within the industry.

We're looking for individuals with a positive attitude, strong work ethic and genuine enthusiasm for learning in a technical and safety‑focused environment. Strong communication skills, good literacy and numeracy, and excellent attention to detail are important.
An interest in health and safety, environmental consultancy, construction, engineering, science or building‑related disciplines would be advantageous. GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade 4/C or above are desirable, as is any previous experience within a practical, engineering, construction, laboratory, site‑based or customer‑facing environment.
A full UK driving licence is essential.
Working EnvironmentThis is a full‑time position based across the South East, delivering services on a regional client‑site basis. The majority of your time will be spent on‑site, supporting asbestos surveying, air monitoring and sampling activities across a wide variety of buildings and operational environments.
