Job DescriptionALTEN is seeking a skilled Harness Engineer to support the design, build, and development of prototype electrical harnesses for aerospace and high-technology applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on harness manufacturing experience and hold relevant industry certifications, ensuring work is completed to the highest quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Build, assemble, and modify prototype electrical harnesses in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Carry out wiring, crimping, soldering, and connector termination activities to industry standards.
- Inspect and test harness assemblies to ensure compliance with quality and technical requirements.
- Support prototype development, troubleshooting, and fault-finding activities.
- Maintain accurate build records and documentation throughout the manufacturing process.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and testing teams to resolve engineering issues.
- Ensure all work is performed in line with EASA, IPC, and company quality standards.
- Adhere to health, safety, and regulatory requirements within the workshop and production environment.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience building and assembling prototype electrical harnesses
. - EASA certification or demonstrable experience working to EASA aerospace standards.
- Strong hands-on skills in wiring, crimping, soldering, and connector assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Experience with harness inspection, continuity testing, and fault diagnosis.
- Knowledge of aerospace, aviation, defence, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within engineering teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to project deadlines.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering

equivalent
military experience
. - Proven experience as a Harness Engineer or Harness Technician.
- Hands-on experience building and assembling prototype electrical harnesses
. - EASA certification or experience working to EASA standards.
- IPC certification (IPC/WHMA-A-620 or equivalent) highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of electrical wiring, cable routing, crimping, soldering, and connector assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Experience conducting harness inspection, testing, and fault-finding activities.
