Canon Precentor Cathedral

The Acting Bishop of Guildford and Guildford Cathedral, the people's cathedral, seek a Canon Precentor to lead its worship and music.

We launched our Vision and Strategy for 2026 to 2032 in June, with Worship as the first of its six themes. Our congregation is growing, our choral foundation is strong, and the new Precentor will play a full part in appointing a new Director of Music.

We seek a priest with a passion for liturgy of the highest quality, a love of the English choral tradition combined with openness to the new, and the gifts to lead a talented team.
