Job Description

We're looking for a creative and enthusiastic Junior Designer to join Miniclip’s studio at Playsport Games. You might be early in your career, but you're already passionate about game design and eager to learn from experienced developers in a professional studio environment.

You’ll work closely with our Senior Designers and wider project teams to help prototype, iterate, and polish gameplay features. You’ll also play an important role in maintaining the quality of our games - supporting the team with hands on QA testing, bug reporting, and play through verification as part of your day-to-day work. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to build their design skills while developing a sharp eye for quality across the full development cycle.

As a motor sport fan ourselves, we’d love to find someone who shares that passion - this role will support our upcoming PC title, Motorsport Manager 2, so an interest in racing and motor sport is a real plus.

Here, everyone has a voice. We value fresh perspectives and want you to feel empowered to help shape the experiences we create for our players.

What will you be doing at Miniclip?
  • Assist in designing, prototyping, and balancing gameplay features and systems.
  • Work closely with Design team to implement and iterate on design documentation and in-game content.
  • Collaborate with Art, Programming, Production, and QA to bring features to life.
  • Carry out regular hands-on QA testing across builds, identifying, documenting, and tracking bugs through to resolution.
  • Verify fixes and perform regression testingon new builds and features.
  • Help prepare and run internal playtests, gathering feedback to inform design decisions.
  • Maintain and update design documentation as features evolve.
  • Contribute ideas during brainstorms and design reviews.
  • Support the team with whatever is needed to deliver the best possible player experience.
What are we looking for?

You love games and you love thinking aboutwhythey work. You're curious, creative, and not afraid to ask questions. You're looking for a place where you can learn fast, contribute meaningfully, and be part of a supportive team that helps you level up.

  • Passionate about making great games and understanding what makes them fun.
  • A motor sport enthusiast - you follow racing and appreciate what makes motor sport games feel authentic.
  • A creative thinker who enjoys coming up with ideas and seeing how they play out.
  • Open to feedback and keen to iterate based on playtests, data, and team input.
  • A clear communicator who can articulate design ideas and work well across disciplines.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and eager to grow.
  • Comfortable with game engines and design tools - you've already started building your craft.
  • Meticulous and patient - you enjoy finding bugs, breaking things, and helping make the game better.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Some experience with game design - whether through a degree, a game jam, a mod, a personal project, or an internship.
  • Familiarity with a modern game engine (Unity preferred).
  • A strong understanding of what makes gameplay engaging and fun.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable working in a collaborative team.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for games and game development.
  • A methodical approach to testing and attention to detail.
  • A genuine interest in or knowledge of motor sport, and a passion for racing games.
Desirable Skills
  • Familiarity with bug tracking tools (Jira, Trello, or similar).
  • Experience with sports games or management sims.
  • An understanding of UI/UX principles for games.
  • In-depth motor sport knowledge (series, cars, rules, or racing history).
