The Assistant Manager, Accounts and Business Advisory will play a vital role in providing high‑quality accounting and advisory services to clients within the business services industry. Client DetailsThe client is a well‑established accountancy firm, known for its expertise in providing accounting and finance solutions. It is a medium‑sized company that offers an engaging work environment where professionals can thrive and grow.
Description- Manage a small portfolio of clients with a view that this will grow over time.
- Preparation and review of financial accounts for limited companies, groups, partnerships, and more.
- Preparation and review of year‑end working paper files and assisting auditors.
- Manage and prepare the timely and accurate consolidation of financial accounting for groups.
- Reviewing financial accounts and files prepared by junior colleagues.
- Engage directly with clients to support the Director with advisory work in corporate finance matters such as due diligence and company valuations.
- Manage detailed variance analysis, forecasting, budgeting and management reporting with comments.
- Manage the day‑to‑day client relationship to ensure the client receives a dedicated service.
- Take ownership of assignments from initial briefing to presentation of final reports.
- Contribute to how the Accounts team is managed.
- Ensure suitable training and supervision of junior members of the team is in place.
- Stay up to date with changes in accounting and auditing standards, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Contribute to the firm’s strategy and growth initiatives, including process improvements and business development.
- ACCA or ACA qualified.
- Education to degree level or equivalent.
- 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including Mathematics and English.
- Experience working in an accountancy practice.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards.
- An interest in corporate finance and business advisory work.
- Experience of working on consolidated and charities’ accounts desirable.
- Experience of working with CCH Accounts Production, Silverfin and Xero accounting software desirable.
- Good IT knowledge and skills, particularly Excel.
- A competitive salary in the range of £60,000 to £65,000 per annum.
