THE ROLEAs Technician – Molecular Assay Development, you will play a key role in supporting the molecular assay development team through hands‑on laboratory work and day‑to‑day operational activities. This is a bench‑based position where accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail are critical.
You’ll support assay development and validation activities while gaining exposure to regulated workflows, clinical sample handling, and diagnostic instrumentation.
Key responsibilities- Receiving, processing, and tracking clinical samples, including blood handling and centrifugation.
- Accurate data entry and sample tracking within a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Performing routine molecular biology techniques including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, and digital PCR.
- A degree in Biomedical Science, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
- At least 1 year of experience in a molecular biology laboratory role (industry, clinical, or research).
- Willingness to learn Phlebotomy.
- Location: Guildford (on-site, office hours)
- Permanent right to work in the UK is required.
