Are you a caring, enthusiastic and hard working person looking to make a big impact? We are looking for dedicated and caring Radiology Department assistants to support our Radiology Service at The Royal Surrey Hospital

The Radiology department is undergoing a lot of big changes over the next 2 years to support a bigger Interventional Radiology Service, now could not be a better time to join the team. Radiology at Royal Surrey is made up of CT, Ultrasound, X-Ray, MRI, Mammography and Interventional Radiography so there is plenty to keep you busy and lots of things you can learn.

This is a patient focused role. You will assist out-patients during their time in the radiology department from transferring the patients to and from the departments, greeting them on arrival, assisting with their preparation for the examinations, and helping to provide a pleasant experience.

You will also take on some admin roles which may include, booking patients in for the appointment, stock management and room preparation for a variety of examinations. Training for all will be provided.

You should have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team. After a settling in period, you will be offered the opportunity to complete a cannulation course, which will allow you to progress to a band 3 position once competence has been confirmed.

The Radiology Department Assistant (RDA) will provide a high-quality support service to the Radiology team at The Royal Surrey Hospital, ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient delivery of diagnostic imaging services including Ultrasound, X ray, CT and MRI. The post holder will support patients throughout their visit while maintaining a professional, compassionate, and patient-centred approach

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
• NVQ level 2 or equivalent in healthcare or willingness to work towards it
• IV cannulation
• Care certificate

• Experience of working within a busy team and managing time effectively
• Experience of providing good customer service.
• Experience and knowledge of using computer software packages such as Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Experience of working in a healthcare environment within a team
• Experience of working within a radiology department
• Experience of communicating well with patients and relatives.
• Experience and knowledge of ordering and maintaining stock.
• Knowledge of patient privacy, dignity and confidentiality.
• Knowledge of infection control standards.
