Conference & Meetings Operations Manager

As Conference & Meetings Operations Manager at De Vere Horsley Estate in Surrey, you’ll lead the delivery of smooth, well‑organised meetings – from perfectly set rooms and working AV to refreshed coffee stations and seamless handovers with our restaurant and kitchen teams. This hands‑on role includes management responsibility for one full‑time team member.

Ideal candidates are those who love the buzz of events but prefer conference early and midday shifts, with a Monday‑to‑Friday focus and occasional late finishes, weekend cover and duty management.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver conference facilities, ensuring setup, presentation, and service levels.
  • Coordinate with kitchen, AV support, and front‑of‑house teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Manage the on‑hand team during shifts, maintaining a positive working atmosphere.
  • Spot and resolve basic AV issues before guests arrive.
  • Oversee duty management, including late finishes and weekend cover as needed.
Skills & Experience
  • Experience in events or restaurant teams, ideally in a hotel setting.
  • Organised, hands‑on, and detail‑focused regarding planning, presentation, and service levels.
  • Strong communicator, able to coordinate smoothly across departments.
  • Natural leader who leads by example, fostering a positive team environment.
  • Basic AV setup knowledge and proactive issue spotting.
