Contract Length:

Location:

Hybrid/Guildford - there is no real requirement to be in the office all the time. Open to someone fully remote for the right candidate but would need to come initially for equipment and badges.

Responsibilities
  • Using Blue Prism to develop Robotic Processes to automate repetitive, rule-based tasks across the organisation to streamline processes and improve overall effectiveness and efficiency by releasing capacity while improving data quality and insights gained from data holdings.
  • Design processes to prepare, enrich and document data for use by developers and analysts using semantic models, Lake houses and data warehouses to enable insight.
  • Ingest or access data through various pipelines or dataflows, using multiple automation technologies (AI/ML/GEN, Power Automate and Power Apps) to enable developers and analysts to provide visualisation and insights via Power BI and other tools to stakeholders and business teams to drive data-driven operational decisions.
  • Transform and test data with dataflows, procedures and notebooks to enable developers to design and build user-facing visualisations combining multiple data sets to provide organisational insight to data assets.
  • Design and implement storage and querying of data in Lake houses and data warehouses. Expose and join data for the wider organisation to access with reusable semantic models that become the single source of truth. This may include data sources in Surrey and Sussex where appropriate.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand business requirements and risks/benefits of the insights gained, across Surrey and Sussex as well as regional and national forces where appropriate.
  • Carefully test and accuracy check data lists and aggregations – create UAT parameters and checklists to inform and enable business sign-off.
  • Collaborate with other team members to design and document solutions and develop governance and control processes, including cross-regional work across Surrey and Sussex corporate services and others.
  • Ensure the business benefits agreed are met through working with business assurance colleagues.
  • Analyse and document data flows ensuring corporate standards are met and recorded consistently to maximise reusability and insights for data-informed operational decisions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the force and Sussex to identify and design solutions that meet established business needs and maximise effectiveness, efficiencies and insights from data held locally and corporately.
  • Represent the department at stakeholder engagement events and meetings, and act as a key decision maker in taking concepts forward into design and development phases.
  • Undertake other duties appropriate to the grade and character of work as reasonably required, including duties of a similar or lesser graded post.
Skills/Experience
  • A degree in Computing, statistics, mathematics or a statistically related discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Experience creating and managing analytical assets such as semantic models, warehouses and Lake houses
  • Strong data modelling background with experience across multiple data sources in cloud and on-premises deployments
  • Experience delivering Power BI/Microsoft Analytics solutions with governance
  • Prepare and enrich data for analysis, securing and maintaining analytics assets and manage semantic models with documentation
  • Experience building dashboards, reports and cubes using SQL, MDX, DAX, Power BI or other visualization tools
  • Experience in developing Robotic Process Automations using Blue Prism
  • Experience gathering business requirements and understanding the business at different levels
  • Experience establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with stakeholders, developers, analysts and data scientists
  • Good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills to influence stakeholders and suppliers
  • Ability to self-manage and work in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities, negotiate solutions and resolve problems with colleagues and customers
  • A flexible and responsive approach to meeting work demands
