Gravitas are working with a large, forward‑thinking organisation investing heavily in enterprise AI enablement across the Microsoft ecosystem.
With foundational licensing already in place (including Copilot Studio and Azure AI Foundry) and early‑stage prototypes underway, they are now looking for a hands‑on AI Developer to take ownership of building out capability, standards and scalable solutions.
This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants to set up and shape the AI function, defining how AI is designed, governed and deployed across a complex, multi‑stakeholder environment.
The RoleYou’ll sit within a well‑established Microsoft‑first IT function responsible for M365, Power Platform and Dynamics services, and take a leading role in embedding AI across the organisation.
The position blends low‑code and pro‑code AI development, with a strong focus on real‑world deployment rather than experimentation.
Key focus areas include:- Copilot Studio: building internal copilots, knowledge assistants and automated workflows
- Azure AI Foundry: developing advanced, Python‑based solutions in secure environments
- Creating enterprise‑ready AI solutions, not just prototypes
- Establishing governance, guardrails and best practices from the ground up
- Design, develop and implement AI solutions using Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services and Azure ML
- Build and deploy solutions across Copilot Studio and Power Platform
- Lead on RAG patterns, prompt engineering and enterprise AI architecture
- Take ownership of environment strategy, ALM and deployment pipelines
- Define and implement AI governance, security and ethical frameworks
- Work closely with technical and non‑technical stakeholders to shape requirements
- Mature early‑stage prototypes into scalable, production‑ready services
- Act as a go‑to SME for AI, supporting wider adoption across the organisation
- Proven experience with Azure AI services (Foundry, Cognitive Services, Azure ML)
- Demonstrable delivery of AI solutions within an enterprise IT environment
Strong understanding of:
- ALM, environments and deployment strategies
- Security, governance and Responsible AI principles
- Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of delivery
- Experience translating ambiguous requirements into practical solutions
- Python and pro‑code AI development experience
- Exposure to Copilot Studio or similar low‑code AI platforms
- Knowledge of RAG, vector search and orchestration frameworks (e.g. Lang Chain)
- Experience establishing standards and guardrails from scratch
- Potential to take on technical leadership or mentoring responsibilities
This role is best suited to someone who:
- Can operate independently and “run with” initiatives without heavy oversight
- Brings enterprise IT maturity, not just academic or experimental exposure to AI
- Understands how to move from prototype to production
- Enjoys shaping frameworks, governance and best practice
- Wants to play a key role in a growing and evolving AI capability
- Opportunity to define and shape AI capability from the ground up
- Work within a mature Microsoft environment with strong internal backing
- Exposure to both low‑code and advanced AI engineering use cases
- High‑impact role with visibility across the organisation
- Excellent benefits and long‑term stability
- Hybrid working (2–3 days onsite in Guildford)
- Flexible working environment
- Occasional out‑of‑hours work required for key releases or support
