Client Procurement Analyst
📍 Guildford / Hybrid (UK & Europe Support)
We’re looking for a Procurement Analyst to join our Procurement Operations team, predominantly supporting our UK clients and suppliers, while also providing support across our European business when required.
This is a hands-on analytical role combining price benchmarking, supplier pricing reviews, product comparison and data analysis.
You’ll spend a lot of your time working with Excel and supplier data, so we’re looking for someone who is comfortable with spreadsheets, has excellent attention to detail and enjoys investigating what is driving a result rather than simply reporting the numbers.
You don’t need to be a procurement expert from day one. We’re looking for someone with good analytical foundations, strong Excel skills and the curiosity and confidence to investigate when something doesn’t look right.
✅ What You’ll Do
Price Benchmarking & Market Analysis
- Carry out accurate and timely price benchmarking across food and catering categories
- Analyse supplier pricing and identify high variances, trends and areas requiring further investigation
- Review product comparisons to establish whether products are genuinely like-for-like, considering factors such as specification, quality, brand and pack size
- Investigate unusual results and identify what may be driving a variance
- Identify opportunities for pricing improvement and support supplier pricing discussions
Supplier Pricing & Data
- Review supplier pricing and product data for accuracy and consistency
- Identify pricing discrepancies, anomalies and potential risks
- Work with suppliers to clarify pricing, product and specification queries
- Carry out data validation and quality checks
- Help ensure the information used for client reporting and benchmarking is accurate and reliable
Client, Supplier & Team Support
- Support new client and contract implementation, ensuring pricing and product data are correctly set up
- Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to resolve pricing and data queries
- Provide analytical support across our UK business and support European operations when required
- Work collaboratively across the Procurement Operations team, supporting wider team priorities and workload
🔎 What we’re looking for
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and Pivot Tables
- Comfortable working with large spreadsheets and datasets
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to investigate high variances and understand what may be driving a result
- Ability to assess product comparisons and determine whether products are genuinely like-for-like
- A logical and curious approach to problem solving
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage different priorities
- Confident communication skills and the ability to work with suppliers and internal teams
- Able to work independently while also supporting wider team priorities
You don’t need to be an advanced Excel expert, but you do need to know your way around a spreadsheet and be comfortable using Excel as part of your everyday work.
Previous procurement experience would be useful, but isn’t essential. We’re equally interested in someone with the right analytical skills and mindset who wants to build a career in procurement.
🌟 Nice to Have
- Experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, commercial support or supplier management
- Experience with in food, catering, hospitality, healthcare or education
- Experience working with supplier pricing or product data
- A European language, particularly Dutch or French
You Might Be a Great Fit If...
You enjoy working with data and digging into the detail to understand what is driving a result.
You notice when something doesn’t look right and are prepared to investigate rather than simply accepting the data at face value.
You’re organised, curious, comfortable asking questions and enjoy the hands-on analytical side of the role.
🤝Why join us?
- Join a friendly and supportive Procurement Operations team
- Work with a wide range of clients and suppliers across the UK and Europe
