Ringway - a recognised leader in highways services - is seeking a Traffic Management Contracts Manager to lead traffic operations across a variety of projects. This crucial role supports construction, infrastructure, and maintenance works by ensuring the safe and efficient movement of traffic.
As Contracts Manager, you will oversee the development, implementation, and ongoing management of traffic management plans, ensuring alignment with project goals and regulatory standards. This hands-on leadership role is well-suited for someone with prior experience managing a depot or holding a senior position in traffic contract management.
The ideal candidate will have practical expertise in traffic management and a strong background in team leadership, regulatory compliance, and integrating traffic strategies within broader project frameworks.
Duties:
- Develop and implement traffic management plans in line with project and legal requirements
- Ensure compliance with all relevant traffic legislation, standards, and industry best practices
- Lead and support a team of supervisors and operatives, providing training and development
- Conduct detailed site assessments to identify traffic flow challenges and risk areas
- Oversee the deployment and maintenance of traffic control measures such as signage and signals
- Liaise with local authorities, emergency services, and stakeholders to ensure coordinated traffic activities
- Respond effectively to incidents and ensure contingency measures are in place
- Manage traffic-related budgets, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising safety
- Explore and implement new technologies to improve traffic monitoring and efficiency
About You:
- Experience in traffic management, ideally with depot or contract management experience
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage large teams across multiple sites
- Comprehensive knowledge of traffic legislation and control systems
- Strong planning and decision-making skills under pressure
- Excellent communicator with experience in stakeholder and authority engagement
- Certification in traffic management or a related field (desirable)
- Familiarity with both high-speed and low-speed environments
