We are looking for Registered Nurse Associates to join our team.

The Royal Surrey County Hospital is recruiting staff for our brand-new Elective Surgery Unit and Shalford Ward , within the Cancer and Surgical Innovation Centre (CASIC), opening this summer.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of surgical innovation while gaining experience across our established same-day surgery unit and wider clinical areas. We are seeking for flexible, motivated individuals who would thrive in a dynamic and varied environment, to apply for this role.

Main duties of the job

As a valued member of our team, you will:

  • Work as a member of the Nursing team, alongside the wider MDT and under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Develop your clinical skills across a wide range of surgical specialties, including:
    Robotic Surgery, Gynae-Urology, Maxillofacial, ENT, Trauma & Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics, and General Surgery
  • Receive ongoing support for your professional development and career progression

KEY RESULT AREAS/MAIN

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Clinical
  • Under indirect supervision and working in partnership with a Registered Nurse provide and deliver a high standard of nursing care, contributing to the ongoing assessment, providing and monitoring evidence-based care and working in partnership with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Provide compassionate, safe and effective care and support to patients in a range of care settings.
  • Monitor the condition and health needs of patients within their care on a continual basis in partnership with patients, families and carers, ensuring appropriate escalation to a Registered Nurse when required.
  • Support patients to improve and maintain their mental, physical, behavioural health and well-being.
  • Care for a patient’s nursing needs whilst promoting comfort and well-being, ensuring their personal and social needs are met.
