Staff nurse

Job Overview

The Respiratory ward is an acute and fast‑paced unit with a twelve‑bed high dependency area that provides acute respiratory medical care for patients across a range of conditions.

Our team includes highly skilled chest physicians, therapists and specialist nurses. We deliver level 2 care, including BIPAP/CPAP and high‑flow oxygen, and are continuously expanding our service.

As a registered, accountable and autonomous nurse you will:

• Act in the best interests of patients at all times and take personal responsibility for decisions.
• Assess, plan, implement, supervise and evaluate safe and compassionate care.
• Facilitate learning and development of others and demonstrate leadership qualities.
• Support preceptorship and teaching of junior staff or trainees.

Preferred:

• Registered Nurse (RN) with evidence of recent professional updating.
• Understanding of current issues in acute NHS setting.
• Knowledge of clinical governance, risk management and NHS/Professional issues.
• Experience in acute respiratory care or similar environment.
