Senior Practice Development Sister​/Preceptorship Lead Nurse

Job responsibilities

• Lead an educational workstream supporting training and education of student nurses, registered nurses, preceptees, and unregistered staff, building confidence and competence.
• Liaise with key external stakeholders, including NHS England and Further and Higher Educational Institutes.
• Lead Nursing Preceptorship across the Trust and support the continuing review and development of multidisciplinary preceptorship.
• Provide education in classroom and clinical settings using a variety of teaching methods, including simulation and educational games.
• Coach, teach, assess, and provide feedback, using advanced communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
• Contribute to the creation and review of education, Trust standards, competencies, and policies that form a framework to protect staff and patients.

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Educated to degree level.
• Mentorship/Practice Assessor qualification or equivalent.
• Post qualification or equivalent experience in nursing studies.
• PG Cert in Education for Health Professionals or equivalent.
• Management course.

• Experience at a senior nursing level within an acute hospital setting.
• Demonstrated up-to-date clinical credibility and competence.
• Evidence of research-based practice.
• Evidence of extended skills in practice.
• Evidence in changing practice and project management.
• Evidence of commitment to CPD.
• Clinical audit.
• Experience working in multi-cultural environments.

£51,657 to £58,785 a year per annum including High Cost Area Supplement.
