Laboratory Technician – Immunofluorescence Imaging Guildford | Full-Time | Onsite Shape the Future of Cancer/imaging Research

Are you an early-career scientist looking for more than just another laboratory role?

You are a curious, ambitious Laboratory Technician looking to join a growing biotech organisation pioneering innovative cancer diagnostics and treatment approaches. If you're excited by hands‑on science, cutting‑edge technology, and the opportunity to develop your career within a fast‑moving biotech environment, we'd love to hear from you.

This is an opportunity to join an organisation that invests in its scientists. You'll receive training, work alongside experienced researchers, and develop the skills needed to progress into more senior scientific positions.

The Opportunity

You'll work as part of a collaborative scientific team where you contribute to research, assay development, and the generation of high‑quality data used to advance patient‑focused healthcare solutions.

A core part of the role involves working with an existing liquid biopsy, a patented system designed to isolate and recover circulating tumour cells (CTCs) directly from whole blood samples.

You'll gain exposure to a range of laboratory techniques including clinical sample processing, microscopy, imaging‑based assays, data management, and quality‑controlled laboratory workflows. You will work closely with scientists and technical specialists, playing an important role in approaching the maintenance of sample integrity, result reliability, and high standard research with a curious and exploratory mindset and company culture.

What you'll be doing
  • Conducting immunofluorescence and in vitro laboratory assays
  • Processing blood samples using innovative microfluidic technologies
  • Communicating and collaborating with scientists and laboratory staff in multi‑disciplinary teams
Who were looking for

We're interested in scientists who are excited by discovery and eager to grow.

You may be a recent graduate with an industrial placement year or a master's degree graduate looking to build your scientific career in industry.

  • BSc or MSc in a Life Sciences discipline with 1+ years of hands‑on experience in fluorescence microscopy/immunofluorescence
  • Ability to work onsite in Guildford five days per week

If you're looking for a role where you can develop your scientific expertise, contribute to meaningful cancer research, and build a long‑term career within biotech, this role can be for you.
