Pay Rate: £23 P/H Umbrella Ltd (£20.59 P/H PAYE Inclusive / £18.37 P/H PAYE Exclusive)

We are seeking an experienced Family Safeguarding Recovery Practitioner to support parents and carers affected by drug and alcohol misuse, with a focus on minimising the impact on children and promoting safer family environments. The successful candidate will work closely with safeguarding teams, children’s services and multi‑agency partners to provide tailored interventions and recovery‑focused support to families with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities- Managing a caseload of parents and carers affected by substance misuse
- Completing comprehensive assessments, care plans and risk assessments
- Delivering one-to-one psychosocial and recovery‑focused interventions
- Supporting families involved with Children’s Social Care and safeguarding services
- Attending child protection conferences, core groups and multi‑agency meetings
- Completing joint home visits with partner agencies where required
- Delivering harm reduction advice, BBV awareness and overdose prevention interventions
- Supporting engagement into treatment and ongoing recovery services
- Developing and facilitating family support and group work opportunities
- Maintaining accurate and timely case management records in line with GDPR and safeguarding requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience within substance misuse or family support services
- Experience working with children, parents and families affected by substance misuse
- Strong understanding of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults
- Experience completing assessments, support plans and risk management plans
- Knowledge of harm reduction and recovery‑focused approaches
- Excellent communication, report writing and partnership working skills
- Good IT skills including use of case management systems
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards)
- Enhanced Child & Adult DBS within 12 months or registered on Update Service
- Valid Right to Work documentation
- Satisfactory employment references
