FST - Social Worker - WEST area

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate FST (Family Support Team) Social Worker to join our dynamic team in Guildford/Woking. This role involves providing support and safeguarding services to children and families, with a focus on promoting their well-being and safety. We are committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace where all team members are valued and respected.

Responsibilities

Conduct assessments and develop tailored support plans for children and families.
Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, including health, education, and community services.
Provide timely and appropriate intervention in safeguarding concerns.
Maintain comprehensive and accurate case records in compliance with legal and organisational standards.
Advocate for the rights and needs of children and families, ensuring their voices are heard.
Participate in supervision, training, and professional development activities.
Promote cultural competence and inclusively in all aspects of practice.

Qualifications

Professional qualification in Social Work (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or degree in Social Work) with registration with Social Work England.
Experience working within child protection and family support settings.
Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and child development principles.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
Commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion in social work practice.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Day-to-Day

Engage with children and families in their homes and community settings.
Attend case conferences, team meetings, and court hearings as required.
Develop and review risk assessments and intervention strategies.
Manage a caseload efficiently while prioritising urgent safeguarding issues.
Collaborate with local agencies to ensure cohesive service delivery.
Reflect on practice and participate in continuous learning to enhance skills.
