About the RoleWe’re looking for a dynamic and proactive Marketing Assistant (approx. 5-10 hours per week to start) who will play a key part in executing marketing strategies that elevate brand visibility and drive engagement across the CT shoreline and New Haven markets. Your enthusiasm for digital marketing, content creation and grassroots outreach will help us connect with our target audiences effectively. This role will evolve into supporting events, campaigns and new creative initiatives as we grow.
Your work will directly support both WLTDO and WLTDO New Haven, helping us reach more pet parents who value quality, professionalism and truly exceptional care.
Develop social media content for all platforms (FB, IG, Tik Tok, Threads, Linked In, etc.) to increase brand awareness and engagement
Create short-form videos, reels and engaging graphics that reflect our warm, polished brand
Draft, schedule and post compelling content for blogs, newsletters, social media and Google pages that educate pet parents and elevate our authority
Conduct research on market trends, competitors and target audiences to inform marketing strategies.
Analyze campaign performance using tools like Google Analytics and marketing automation platforms; prepare reports to measure success and identify opportunities for improvement.
Assist in managing advertising budgets for digital ads such as Google AdWords and Facebook Advertising campaigns.
Marketing Operations:Gather stories, photos and updates from our team to feature in blogs and posts
Help organize and maintain our content calendar
Track engagement trends and brainstorm ideas that keep our communities excited
Use (or learn to use) tools like:Time to Pet (TTP)
Go High Level (GHL)
Canva
Social scheduling tools
Growth & EventsAssist in planning and preparing for local events
Support seasonal promotions, giveaways and marketing campaigns
Help develop “Sunny the Dog” themed brand content (our new mascot!)
You’d Be a Great Fit If You…Have marketing experience - whether professionally or as a content creator/influencer
Are comfortable writing blogs, captions and newsletter-style content
Love pets and understand the importance of portraying them with warmth, safety and professionalism
Have some familiarity with marketing automation tools and analytics platforms like Google Analytics.
Have excellent copywriting skills with attention to detail and clarity
Are eager to learn new systems, tools and workflows within a growing company
Are creative, organized, adaptive and ready to pitch new ideas
Can work independently and meet deadlines
Enjoy being part of a team that’s always growing, improving and having fun along the way
Bonus Points For…Experience managing multiple brand voices
Familiarity with pet care or service-based businesses
Photography or videography skills
Comfort being in front of the camera occasionally
A knack for subtle humor, storytelling or creating emotional connection in content
Schedule & Compensation~5–10 hours per week to start
Mostly remote with some involvement in local events
