MRI Technologist Freestanding ED $10,000 Sign-On Bonus

Join to apply for the MRI Technologist Freestanding ED $10,000 Sign-On Bonus role at Baldwin Health. This position is located at our Freestanding Emergency Department, in Gulf Shores, AL.

Schedule:

Full-Time, Mon - Fri 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM. Call rotation at hospital, every 3rd weekend a month.

Baldwin Health - Freestanding Emergency Department, located at 3590 Gulf Shores Parkway, provides faster access to Emergency Care for people living in the area south of our main campus. We are dedicated to bringing the same award-winning quality care to this facility as our main campus.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures to support diagnostic and treatment services.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort and produce high-quality images for physician evaluation.
  • Operate and maintain imaging equipment; manage MRI supplies; provide excellent patient care throughout the procedure.
  • Adhere to department protocols and safety standards; monitor MRI safety zones and confirm readiness before entering scan areas.
  • Educate and prepare patients for MRI exams; address questions to ensure understanding and comfort.
  • Document clinical history and correlate with exam findings for radiologist review.
  • Maintain inventory and sterilization of MRI supplies and equipment as required.
  • Verify physician orders and patient identification prior to starting procedures.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare team members to achieve optimal imaging results and patient outcomes.
  • Monitor and maintain MRI equipment functionality; report issues promptly.
  • Provide instructions and support to patients during and after exams.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program required.
  • 0-2 years of clinical experience as a registered MRI Technologist required.
Licenses and Certifications
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required.
  • ARMRIT - Registered Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist or certification eligible and obtained within 12 months of hire required.
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support required.
Knowledge,

Skills And Abilities
  • Knowledge of MRI principles, safety standards, and imaging techniques.
  • Proficient in operating MRI equipment and associated software.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to assess patient needs and provide compassionate care.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to follow established protocols and procedures.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and image processing.
Essential Functions
  • Performs MRI procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Reviews MRI patient questionnaires and histories to identify contraindications such as implants or foreign bodies, ensuring safety during scans.
  • Operates MRI and processing equipment proficiently, adhering to safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Educates and prepares patients for MRI exams, addressing questions to ensure understanding and comfort.
  • Ensures compliance with MRI safety standards and maintains safety zones.
  • Documents and correlates clinical history with exam findings for radiologist review.
  • Maintains inventory and sterilization of MRI supplies and equipment.

  • Collaborates with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare team members to ensure optimal imaging results.
