House Attendant Responsibilities:
- Maintains Guest floor and Public Space cleanliness. Responsibilities may also include Fitness Center, and Meeting Room cleanliness.
- Provides support to Room Attendants as assigned.
- May also support Laundry Department needs.
- Works under the direction of the Director/Manager of Housekeeping, Operations Managers or General Manager.
- Cleans, vacuums hallways, lobbies, corridors, elevators, stairways.
- Sweeps, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors using brooms, mops and powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
- Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and draperies using vacuum cleaner.
- Dusts furniture and equipment.
- Polishes metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings.
- Washes walls, ceiling and woodwork.
- Washes windows, door panels and sills.
- Maintains Public area cleanliness (including restrooms)
- Empties wastebaskets and ashtrays.
- Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
- Stocks Room Attendant carts with linen and room supplies.
- Strips or removes dirty linen and transports to Laundry Room.
- Retrieves clean linens from Laundry Room and properly stocks on floors.
- Folds towels, sheets, linens as needed.
- Stocks closets or storage areas as required (linens and supplies).
- Assists Room Attendants with heavy lifting and moving of furniture and equipment in guest rooms as assigned.
- Maintains storage areas organization and cleanliness.
- May also assist with maintenance and cleaning of pool (as applicable).
- Responsible for careful use of supplies issued for performance of cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Provides a pleasant greeting to each guest.
- Has thorough knowledge of all in-house products and local area information to assist customers when needed.
- Displays proper organizational skills when stocking cart and timeliness of cart stocking after completing rooms.
- Responds to customer needs for housekeeping supplies within 10 minutes.
- Uses guests’ names when entering occupied rooms.
- Other duties may be assigned.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to understand, read, write and speak basic English and communicate with Team Members and Guests.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out simple instructions.
- Ability to comply in standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Effective teamwork.
- Flexible shifts and Holidays.
- Regularly stand; use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently walk, climb or balance, talk or hear.
- Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Push carts that weigh up to 200 pounds.
- Use close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
- Operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.
- Work with cleaning chemicals.
- Professional and Energetic.
- High school education or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience:
four to six months Housekeeping experience or training preferred, but not required.
