PSYCHIATRIC NURSE PRACTITIONER (INPATIENT)

Position SummaryJoin a medical team where the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner assists in the process of evaluating patients. Responsible for psychiatric assessments for inpatient or outpatient populations and consults with the physician regarding treatment recommendations and referrals. Opportunities to work with various patient populations including children, adolescents, adults, military, and detox/transition patients.
Responsibilities- Perform psychiatric assessments for inpatient and outpatient populations.
- Develop and implement care plans for psychiatric patients.
- Consult with physicians regarding treatment recommendations and medication management.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team on patient continuity of care.
- Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or APRN and completion of a post‑graduate program for psychiatric mental health nursing.
- Preferably two or more years experience within a psychiatric setting.
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in an inpatient setting.
- Licensed to practice in the State of Mississippi as a Nurse Practitioner or APRN.
- Prescriptive authority from the Board of Medical Examiners if medication privileges are exercised.
