Painter / Sheetrock Finisher – Maintenance Department

We are seeking an experienced Painter / Sheetrock Finisher to join our Maintenance Department within a retirement community setting. This position plays an important role in maintaining a pleasant, clean, and well‑maintained residential environment for our senior residents. Most work is performed indoors under safe, comfortable, and climate‑controlled conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Perform interior painting, texturing, patching, sanding, and surface preparation
- Complete drywall and Sheetrock finishing including taping, mudding, and repair work
- Repair minor interior wall damage (holes, cracks, scuffs, etc.)
- Assist with turnover preparations for resident rooms and common areas
- Ensure project areas are cleaned and restored to original condition upon completion
- Work independently and efficiently while meeting quality standards and timelines
- Communicate effectively with maintenance team, leadership, and residents when needed
- Follow all safety procedures and facility policies
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in painting and drywall/Sheetrock finishing (required)
- Strong knowledge of surface preparation, finishes, texture matching, and repair techniques
- Ability to lift, carry, bend, and stand for extended periods as job tasks require
- Strong attention to detail, neat workmanship, and pride in quality outcomes
- Reliable, professional, and able to work respectfully around senior residents
- Basic experience in general maintenance (preferred but not required)
- Valid driver’s license (preferred)
- Primarily indoor work
- Monday–Friday schedule with occasional flexibility as needed
