Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Painter / Sheetrock Finisher to join our Maintenance Department within a retirement community setting. This position plays an important role in maintaining a pleasant, clean, and well‑maintained residential environment for our senior residents. Most work is performed indoors under safe, comfortable, and climate‑controlled conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform interior painting, texturing, patching, sanding, and surface preparation
  • Complete drywall and Sheetrock finishing including taping, mudding, and repair work
  • Repair minor interior wall damage (holes, cracks, scuffs, etc.)
  • Assist with turnover preparations for resident rooms and common areas
  • Ensure project areas are cleaned and restored to original condition upon completion
  • Work independently and efficiently while meeting quality standards and timelines
  • Communicate effectively with maintenance team, leadership, and residents when needed
  • Follow all safety procedures and facility policies
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in painting and drywall/Sheetrock finishing (required)
  • Strong knowledge of surface preparation, finishes, texture matching, and repair techniques
  • Ability to lift, carry, bend, and stand for extended periods as job tasks require
  • Strong attention to detail, neat workmanship, and pride in quality outcomes
  • Reliable, professional, and able to work respectfully around senior residents
  • Basic experience in general maintenance (preferred but not required)
  • Valid driver’s license (preferred)
Schedule & Work Environment
  • Primarily indoor work
  • Monday–Friday schedule with occasional flexibility as needed
