Part-Time Fitness Center Monitor - Pool - HC Campus
The candidate will exhibit superior customer service skills in a professional manner when conversing, encouraging and answering questions that students, faculty, and the general public may have. The candidate will be knowledgeable of all components of the Gym and Fitness Center policies. This position requires an outgoing and positive attitude, multitasking ability, and excellent problem-solving capabilities.
Job Duties:
- Be familiar with and abide by MGCCC policies and procedures.
- Monitor Fitness Center usage.
- Maintain the Fitness Center by keeping things clean and organized; this includes all areas of the facility.
- Properly check equipment in and out from the Fitness Center Front Desk.
- Assist with Student Activities on an as needed basis.
- Make sure everyone scans in and out of the Fitness Center properly.
- Notify the Supervisor of any maintenance or student issues/problems that occur.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Make copies and perform other clerical duties as needed.
- Clean exercise equipment weekly; clean pads, dust daily and oil cables on equipment.
- Assist with Intramural sports for the campus.
- Answer phone calls and take messages.
- Wash, dry and fold towels as needed.
Mandatory
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Desirable
Qualifications:
- Work experience in a professional setting.
- Skilled in the operation of personal computers and Microsoft Office (internet and email).
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Customer service experience.
- Work independently as well as part of a team.
- General knowledge of exercise equipment and facilities.
- Ability to lift or move equipment/materials in the Fitness Center.
- Ability to exercise flexibility, initiative, good judgment and discretion.
- Leadership skills to oversee and accomplish tasks.
- Understand the importance of structure, organization, and resource management.
- To complete tasks in a timely manner.
