Assistant Professor –
B.Tech Computer Science & Engineering (Semiconductor Specialization)
Department:
Computer Science & Engineering
Qualification Requirements:
Ph.D. or M.Tech / M.E. in Computer Science & Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, VLSI, Microelectronics, Embedded Systems, or a closely related field
- Strong aca demic background in semiconductor technologies integrated with CSE
- NET/SET/Ph.D. as per UGC/AICTE norms (preferred/mandatory as applicable)
- Teaching or research experience in relevant domains is desirable
Core Responsibilities
- Teaching & Academic Duties
- Teach undergraduate courses in
B.Tech CSE (Semiconductor Specialization) such as:
- Semiconductor Devices & Physics
- VLSI Design
- Digital IC Design
- CMOS Technology
- Embedded Systems
- Computer Architecture
- FPGA Design
- Nanoelectronics
- EDA Tools and Design Automation
- Design and update curriculum in line with industry and semiconductor ecosystem needs
- Conduct laboratory sessions, project guidance, and hands-on training
- Mentor students for capstone projects, internships, and competitions
Research & Development
- Conduct research in areas such as semiconductor design, chip architecture, hardware-software co-design, AI for chip design, and nanotechnology
- Publish research papers in SCI/Scopus-indexed journals
- Apply for funded research projects from government and industry bodies
- Collaborate with semiconductor industries, research labs, and startups
- Institutional Responsibilities
- Participate in academic planning, accreditation (NBA/NAAC), and curriculum development
- Contribute to faculty development programs (FDPs), workshops, and seminars
- Support student innovation, hackathons, and incubation activities
- Perform administrative duties as assigned by the institution
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of semiconductor fundamentals and computing systems
- Proficiency in EDA tools (Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics, etc.)
- Programming knowledge (C, C++, Python, HDL – Verilog/VHDL)
- Effective teaching, communication, and mentoring skills
- Industry-oriented and research-driven mindset
- Familiarity with Make in India / Semiconductor Mission initiatives
- Collaboration with fabs, foundries, or design houses
