Content Lead – Training Function (AVP/DVP)

About the Role The Content Lead – Training Function will be responsible for driving the design, development, and deployment of high‑impact learning content for Aviva Life’s sales and distribution teams. This role requires strong domain knowledge in life insurance, a deep understanding of sales processes, and the ability to translate business needs into engaging, high-quality learning materials.
Initially structured as an Individual Contributor role, this position may evolve into leading a content team as the function expands.
Key Responsibilities
1. Content Strategy & Development
Develop the end‑to‑end content strategy for the Sales Training function aligned with business priorities.
Design and create training content across formats—presentations, scripts, workbooks, job aids, e-learning modules, microlearning, assessments, and videos.
Ensure all content meets high standards of accuracy, instructional design, and learner engagement.
Regularly refresh content based on product updates, regulatory changes, sales insights, and performance data.
2. Domain Expertise & Business Alignment
Collaborate closely with Product, Distribution, Underwriting, Operations, and Compliance teams to ensure domain accuracy.
Translate complex life insurance concepts into simple, learner-friendly formats.
Support new product launches by creating tailored training material quickly and efficiently.
3. Learning Design & Innovation
Apply modern instructional design principles (ADDIE, Bloom’s Taxonomy, adult learning).
Incorporate multimedia, storytelling, scenario-based learning, and gamification elements.
Drive digital-first learning experiences (LMS content, microlearning, video-based learning).
4. Stakeholder Management
Partner with Sales Training leads, Regional Trainers, and Distribution leadership to gather requirements and validate content.
Manage timelines, expectations, and quality of deliverables.
Present content ideas and frameworks to senior stakeholders.
5. Quality Assurance & Governance
Ensure content adheres to brand, compliance, and regulatory guidelines.
Maintain a structured content repository for easy access and version control.
Monitor learner feedback and performance data to improve content effectiveness.
6. Future Team Leadership (as the function scales)
Possibility to lead a small team of Instructional Designers/Content Developers in the future.
Establish processes, standards, and workflows for the content team.
Qualifications & Experience
7–12 years of experience in Training Content Development, Instructional Design, or L&D within Life Insurance / BFSI.
Strong domain knowledge in life insurance products, sales processes, and distribution models.
Experience in conceptualizing and developing high-quality content across multiple learning formats.
Proficiency in digital design tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Canva, Adobe Suite, Articulate, Vyond, LMS platforms).
Familiarity with adult learning principles and modern training methodologies
