Head -Agentic AI

Lead the design and delivery of Airtel’s Agentic AI Platform—a foundational component of India’s sovereign, hyperscale-ready public cloud. The role involves architecting and engineering a next-generation system enabling autonomous agents, workflow orchestration, multimodal AI, vector-native intelligence, and tight integration with Airtel’s IaaS and PaaS ecosystems. This is a hands-on, high-impact technical leadership position.

Key Responsibilities

1. Platform Architecture & Vision

• Own the full architecture of the Agentic AI Platform, covering agent runtime, orchestration, memory systems, tool-use frameworks, and security layers.

• Define long-term technical roadmap aligned with sovereign cloud principles—data residency, isolation, and compliance.

• Establish cross-platform standards for agent interoperability, safety, observability, and governance.

2. Core Platform Engineering

• Lead engineering of high-scale platform components: o Agent framework (LLM reasoning, planning, tool use) o Vector DB and memory subsystems o Real-time event-driven orchestration (Kafka/Pulsar) o Enterprise integration and secure API/tool layer o Sandboxing, policy enforcement, audit and governance

• Build multi-tenant control plane and modern self-service developer experience.

3. AI Infrastructure & Models

• Integrate foundation models, fine‑tuning pipelines, and RAG systems with platform capabilities.

• Optimize latency, cost, and throughput via caching, quantization, autoscaling, and model routing.

• Promote open-source model stacks (LLaMA, Qwen, Mistral) and CNCF-native infrastructure.

4. Cross-Functional Leadership

• Collaborate with Cloud Infra, Data, Product, Security, and Enterprise teams to align platform strategy.

• Mentor engineering teams; enforce high-quality distributed systems design and SRE standards.

• Represent Airtel in open-source and industry forums on agentic AI and cloud-native AI.

Required Skills & Experience

• 12–18+ years of experience in platform engineering, cloud-native systems, or AI/ML infrastructure.

• Proven track record in building distributed platforms at hyperscale.

• Strong expertise in: o LLMs, RAG, semantic search, agentic workflows o Kubernetes, microservices, service mesh, event-driven architectures o Vector databases (Milvus, Weaviate), streaming systems (Kafka/Pulsar) o Python/Go/Java, IaC, Git Ops, modern CI/CD and MLOps

• Deep understanding of multi-tenancy, cloud security, and compliance.
• Experience leading engineering teams of 30–100+.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with telco-scale platforms, OSS/BSS systems, or enterprise automation.

• Contributions to open-source AI or cloud-native projects.
