Project Manager (PMO) – Data Products

Role Overview

Axis Max Life’s Business Intelligence & Insights Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead strategic data initiatives and drive delivery of enterprise-grade analytics solutions. This role sits at the intersection of project governance, data product management, stakeholder leadership, and BI solutioning, with a strong emphasis on Power BI, data platform modernization, and product lifecycle management.

The ideal candidate brings a blend of project management maturity, hands-on BI experience, process governance, and data product thinking—ensuring that analytics solutions are scalable, valuable, and aligned to organizational priorities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project & Program Management

- Own end-to-end project delivery across multiple BI and analytics work streams.
- Develop detailed project plans, charters, communication plans, and governance dashboards.
- Lead cross-functional ceremonies including steering committees, sprint reviews, and stakeholder governance forums.
- Maintain oversight on project scope, timelines, budgets, resources, procurement (if applicable), and vendor management.
- Ensure alignment to PMO frameworks, compliance, and organizational governance standards.
- Drive proactive risk identification, mitigation planning, and timely escalations.

2. Data Product Management

- Define, prioritize, and manage the roadmap for analytical and data products, ensuring alignment with business KPIs.
- Translate complex business requirements into structured product features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Manage the full product lifecycle—from discovery, design, and development through deployment and adoption.
- Conduct user research, stakeholder interviews, usability assessments, and value realization analysis.
- Champion data product standardization, self-service enablement, and continuous improvement.

3. Business Intelligence & Power BI Delivery

- Oversee end-to-end delivery of dashboards, data models, and BI solutions on Power BI and Microsoft ecosystem.
- Govern semantic modeling, DAX standards, and data visualization best practices.
- Ensure performance optimization, security (including RLS), workspace governance, and adherence to enterprise BI architecture.
- Collaborate closely with data engineering teams on source data, pipelines, and data quality management.
- Monitor refresh cycles, capacity utilization, and release management processes.

4. Stakeholder Management & Leadership

- Serve as the primary liaison between business, technology teams, and leadership for BI and data product initiatives.
- Align analytics outcomes with strategic business objectives and data-driven decision-making.
- Manage expectations, influence senior stakeholders, and communicate progress through executive-ready reporting.
- Lead cross-functional teams (BI developers, analysts, data engineers, QA) to deliver high-quality outcomes.

5. PMO Governance & Reporting

- Prepare status reports, executive updates, dashboards, and delivery health metrics.
- Standardize documentation including BRDs, FRDs, UAT plans, SOPs, and post-implementation reviews.
- Maintain auditable documentation as per internal PMO and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews and ensure adherence to project governance frameworks.
