Job Description for a Senior Workday Integration Developer/ Consultant
Overview
A Senior Workday Integration Developer/ Consultant is a highly skilled professional responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Workday integrations that meet the specific needs of the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of Workday's integration capabilities, strong technical skills, and the ability to manage complex projects. The Senior Workday Integration Developer/ Consultant plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless integration of Workday with other systems, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of HR operations.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum 8+ years of experience as a Senior Workday Integration Developer/ Consultant with proven expertise in Workday integrations, configuration, and system optimization. Exposure to Workday Orchestrate would be desired.
Deep knowledge of Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, and Workday Web Services (SOAP, REST).
Strong background in API development, data architecture, and Workday reporting tools (BIRT, Calculated Fields, Report Writer).
Experience with Workday security frameworks, authentication protocols (OAuth, SAML), and data governance.
Workday integrations certifies is a must.
Demonstrated ability to design scalable, secure, and compliant Workday solutions aligned with business objectives.
Experience integrating Workday with payroll and time & attendance systems, preferably in the Australian context with knowledge of local payroll compliance (e.g., Single Touch Payroll, superannuation).
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to work collaboratively across HR, Payroll, IT, and vendor teams.
Experience with tools for integration version control and automated testing (Swagger, Git Lab, Dynatrace, Selenium) is preferred.
Strategic thinker with ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Collaborative workshop facilitator and consensus builder.
Detail-oriented with a focus on data integrity and compliance.
Proactive in knowledge transfer and maintaining technical documentation, including integration specifications, data mapping, and process flows.
Adaptable to evolving technology and regulatory environments.
Summary:
The Senior Workday Integration Developer/Consultant is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining complex Workday integrations to ensure seamless connectivity with payroll, time & attendance, and external systems. The role requires deep expertise in Workday integration tools (Studio, EIBs, Core/Cloud Connectors, Web Services), strong API and data architecture skills, and certified Workday integration experience with 6-8 year for Workday integrations development experience.
The individual will lead scalable, secure, and compliant integration solutions, collaborate closely with HR, Payroll, IT, and vendors, and support Australian payroll compliance where applicable. Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management, documentation, and knowledge‑transfer capabilities are essential.
