Role Overview

The Inventory Planner at Minizmo will be responsible for planning and managing category-wise inventory and samples for physical retail stores in a made-to-measure menswear environment.

This role focuses on store-level planning, category mix, sample allocation, and inventory productivity—ensuring each store carries the right products, in the right quantity, at the right time to support trials, conversions, and sales.

This is a retail store inventory planning role and does NOT involve online marketplace planning (Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, etc.).

Key Responsibilities

· Inventory Planning & Forecasting

o  Prepare sales and inventory plans by store, category, and season based on historical performance and business targets.

o  Plan category-wise stock and sample requirements (suits, blazers, shirts, trousers, festive wear, etc.) aligned to store size, location, and customer profile.

o  Forecast demand to support growth while minimizing overstock and stock-outs.

o  Create buy and allocation plans in coordination with Buying and Production teams.

· Stock Allocation & Replenishment

o  Manage initial allocation of samples and inventory for new launches and new stores.

o  Monitor store-wise stock health and recommend replenishment, rationalization, or inter-store transfers.

o  Ensure core and fast-moving categories are always adequately represented across stores.

· Inventory Control & Optimization

o  Track key KPIs such as sell-through, stock turn, aging, slow-moving categories, and stock productivity.

o  Identify underperforming categories, fabrics, or styles and suggest corrective actions.

o  Recommend markdowns, promotions, or liquidation strategies for excess or non-performing stock.

o  Work towards reducing excess inventory and improving overall stock efficiency.

· Performance Analysis & Reporting

o  Prepare weekly and monthly MIS reports covering sales, inventory, aging, and category performance.

o  Analyze plan vs actual performance and highlight gaps with actionable insights.

o  Track category-wise margins and support profitability goals.

· Cross-Functional Coordination

o  Work closely with Retail, Buying, Production, and VM teams to align stock flow with store requirements.

o  Support season launches, promotions, and VM changes from an inventory planning perspective.

o  Provide inventory insights to improve in-store conversion and merchandising effectiveness.

· Candidates whose primary experience is in online marketplace inventory planning (Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, etc.)

· Profiles focused on e-commerce cataloging, fulfillment, or marketplace operations

· Candidates with only D2C logistics or marketplace exposure

Key Skills & Competencies

· Strong analytical and numerical skills with a retail planning mindset

· Solid understanding of retail inventory KPIs (sell-through, stock turn, aging, GMROI)

· Advanced Excel skills; ERP or retail planning system exposure preferred

· Detail-oriented, structured, and process-driven

· Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills

Experience & Qualification

· 2–6 years of experience in retail store inventory planning or merchandise planning

· Hands-on experience managing physical store inventory and category planning

· Experience in menswear, formal wear, or made-to-measure retail is a strong advantage

· Graduate / Postgraduate in Business, Retail Management, Fashion, or a related field preferred
