SUMMARY
:
The Senior Director, Health Promotion and Navigation Services is responsible for leading and managing health education, promotion, and navigation initiatives. Oversee all components of program operations and engage in cross geography and functional engagement to promote collaboration across YWCA programs through health equity framework and trauma-informed practices.
COLLABORATES WITH: Actively collaborates with YWCA Executive Leadership, Safety and Wellness team members, community partners and influencers and other stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Cultivates YWCA’s internal health equity and promotion Community of Practice. Leads community health initiatives that address community health challenges and their intersection with social determinates of health. The role includes the development and execution of community health initiatives such as health screenings, health education and care navigation that result in increased personal health efficacy. Through a health equity framework, provide information, knowledge, skills, and healthcare systems navigation assistance to strengthen informed healthcare decisions and access positions individuals and households to achieve optimal health and well-being.
This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of program operations and collaborating across departments, divisions, geographies, and with external partners to facilitate the integration of trauma-informed practices and primary prevention strategies.
Program Development and Operations:
Co-create and cultivate the YWCA’s internal health equity and promotion Community of Practice, fostering a culture of collaboration, shared inventory of resources, tools, methodologies and best practices. Leads and manages community health initiatives, targeting breast, diabetes, hypertension, colon and emotional health, and their intersections with social determinants of health. Lead program content development and establish partnerships for program execution. Regularly evaluate and refine programs based on community feedback and outcome data for long-term sustainability.
Community Engagement and Mobilization: Develop and implement strategies to make primary health prevention and community mobilization core organizational strengths;
Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with local governments, healthcare providers, nonprofits, and community groups;
Work to increase community participation by developing and activating community outreach and educational events that educate, entertains and empowers diverse audiences;
Create awareness within target communities of primary health prevention programs and other YWCA programs/services.
Talent Management & Development
:
Responsible for ensuring recruitment, onboarding, coaching, professional development, evaluation and retention of highly qualified staff, interns, and volunteers;
Instill a sense of accountability among team members, by modeling effective oversight of program performance resulting in improved retention and program performance. Cultivates and contributes to a culture that encourages reflection, psychological safety, and continuous learning.
Fiscal Responsibility and Resource Development:
Co-create and manage program budgets with Division leaders specifically tracking revenue, expenses, and contract deliverables to ensure fiscal and program stability and productivity. Works with Finance to analyze monthly budget reports and implement cost-savings/growth measures;
Collaborate with Strategic Engagement staff to explore and prepare potential funding opportunities;
Foster stewardship by assisting with stakeholder recognition, and engagement.
Professional Development:
