Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
JOB SUMMARY
Shift: C-Shift 6:45 am – 7:00 pm Working under general supervision and instruction, performs a variety of moderately difficult assignments requiring judgment to resolve.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Apply substantial understanding to complete tasks; receives little instruction on daily work.
- Troubleshoot and determine problems in non‑functioning electro‑mechanical equipment.
- Dismantle, adjust, repair, and assemble equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, manuals, or drawings.
- Use test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts.
- Rebuild manufacturing equipment as required.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance; document maintenance.
- Calibrate equipment using test equipment.
- Communicate with equipment suppliers regarding repairs.
- Maintain sufficient data to develop process improvement initiatives.
- Assist in developing work procedures.
- Source and purchase equipment parts as needed.
- Maintain and store backup information for critical equipment software systems.
- Make recommendations regarding new or replacement equipment.
- Train employees in operation of machinery.
- Work overtime or be on‑call as required.
- Comply with company security policy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
- Read, write, and communicate in English; effective communication with technical support.
- Broad knowledge and troubleshooting capability with electro‑mechanical equipment.
- Use of basic and special purpose hand tools, leveling instruments, test/calibration equipment.
- Diagnose failures detectable at IO level.
- Basic mathematics.
- May require forklift certification.
- Understanding of electronic color codes and component markings.
- Understanding of safety practices.
- Solid knowledge of specialized maintenance tracking programs.
- Personal computer operation in Windows environment (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, e‑mail).
- Associate’s degree in electronics with emphasis in servo positioning theory or equivalent.
- 5–8 years prior work experience in electro‑mechanical equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
Hourly pay range: $23.99–$43.17. Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance; paid time off at 3.07 hours per week in the first year; 4 weeks paid parental leave; 11 company‑paid holidays (9 fixed, 2 optional); 401(k) retirement plan; employee stock purchase plan.
